Commonly heard phrase in my office

I was reading a blog entry today on a site called askasqlguru.com where a very interesting article written in the Harvard Business Review was referenced.  This article was about how creativity in the workplace is often stifled and that actually defying management to pursue creative ideas can benefit both the employee and the company (I’m not about to endorse open defiance in all areas – many “creative” pursuits also end poorly…but anyway).  The article is very interesting, so take a read when you have a minute, here it is.

As for the section on rewarding failure (I love this line) it reminded me of a phrase so commonly spoken in my office.  I’ve reached into the always rewarding bag of youtube goodies to pull this one out.  If you were not a watcher of the TV show Arrested Development, the specifics of what are shown may be lost – but the message is clear regardless.
